Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Tidbit ("we", "us", "the app") handles information when you use the Tidbit iOS application. Tidbit is designed to keep your personal health data on your own devices and in your own iCloud account. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
Data stored on your device and in your iCloud
Tidbit stores the following information in an on-device database that syncs through your private Apple iCloud account using CloudKit. Apple, not Tidbit, controls this storage. We do not have access to it.
- Food log entries, custom foods, recipes, and meal templates
- Weight entries and body measurements
- Water intake entries
- Medication / injection entries and symptom logs
- Goals and app preferences
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you grant permission, Tidbit can read and write weight and nutrition data to Apple Health. This integration is optional and you can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings → Health. Tidbit never transmits HealthKit data off your device.
Third-party services
Tidbit uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:
- FatSecret Platform API — when you search for a food, your search query is sent to FatSecret through our server-side proxy to retrieve nutrition information. The query text and food identifiers are sent; your personal log data is not. See FatSecret's privacy policy.
- USDA FoodData Central — public nutrition data is fetched from the USDA for certain foods. Only the search query or food identifier is sent.
- RevenueCat — handles subscription management. When you purchase or restore a subscription, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and Apple receipt data to validate the transaction. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Apple (App Store, iCloud, CloudKit) — handles purchases, crash reports, and data sync. See Apple's privacy policy.
Analytics and tracking
Tidbit does not include third-party analytics SDKs. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Data export and deletion
You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Data & Backup in the app. To delete your data, use the clear-all action in the same screen, or delete the app — iCloud data is removed when you delete the app and clear it from iCloud in iOS Settings.
Children
Tidbit is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, with an updated "Last updated" date.
